Formation and the First Re-union
The first reunion was held on 10th April, 2016 from 4.00 pm to 8,00 pm, in the auditorium of Canossa High School, Andheri (E).
An initiative taken by Ms. Amrita Divay to start this group and the get-together spearheaded with the support of Mrs. Willrine Vaz and the others who joined the team. About 400 students, 35 ex-teachers and sisters attended the programme. All were welcomed with a box of snacks and a key chain with ‘Proud to be a Canossian’ imprinted on it.
The programme began with a prayer and lighting of the Samai, conducted by Sr. Naty D’silva and Sr. Philomena Joseph. Followed by an address note by the Principal Sr. Monica Cardozo who then welcomed and felicitated the Chief Guest Sr. Jose Mary Keelath the Province Leader of Canossian Daughters of Charity.
Thereafter, the ex-teachers, sisters and the first batch of students which passed out in 1978 were felicitated.
Followed by a dance performed by a group of students choreographed by Ms. Melitta . Sir Joey Mendonca and Mr. Marian D’souza an ex-student, sang a melody along with the girls.
A band display was performed by the present students.
The girls amused themselves with dance sessions and photo sessions of each group. It was a evening full of excitement and joy of meeting their classmates after many many years and the girls were grateful to the School Management for this reunion.
The next get-together is planned for December 2016.
